Zelenskyj boasts after Ukraine successfully attacked a Russian target with a homemade drone: “The enemy is defeated”

Ukraine can use a new weapon on the battlefield.

The country has successfully used its domestically developed Paljanytsia drone missile to attack a target in Russia, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video address to the nation on Saturday.

In his address to the nation, Zelensky boasted of their “new method of retaliation against the aggressor,” named after a type of Ukrainian bread baked in a stone oven.

He said the drones were a “new class” of weapons.

“The enemy is defeated,” Zelensky said. “I thank everyone who made this possible. All developers, manufacturers and our soldiers. I am proud of you. It will be a challenge for Russia, and it will be even more difficult to say exactly what (missile or drone) hit. It is difficult to do anything about it, but very easy to understand why (it was fired).”

The revelation came shortly after President Joe Biden spoke with Zelensky and announced details of $125 million in new aid, including much-needed ammunition.

The package also includes anti-aircraft missiles, anti-drone equipment, a mobile missile system and anti-tank missiles.

Announcing the aid, Biden said: “Russia will not prevail in this conflict. The independent people of Ukraine will prevail – and the United States, our allies, and our partners will continue to stand with them every step of the way.”

Since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, the United States has sent $55 billion in aid to Kyiv.
