Yelp: Illinois Pizza Joint offers the third best pizza in the Midwest

Think of how many thousands of pizzerias there are throughout the Midwest. The fact that a pizza place in Illinois was just named the third best in the entire region is quite a compliment, and that’s exactly what happened from reviewers on Yelp.

This brand new list, just released by Yelp, ranks the 100 best pizza places in the Midwest. Many from Illinois made the list, but one clearly stood out from the crowd.

The pizza bronze medal goes to Pequod’s Pizza in Chicago, Illinois. I could probably list 100 pizza places in Chicago alone, so even if this trophy was only given to the third best among the Windy City pizza places, it would be a huge honor. It’s no secret that Yelp takes hundreds of reviews for each establishment into account to determine who ends up at the top of the list. Hear this. I looked at Pequod’s Pizza’s Yelp page and guess how many reviews they have? 8,260 user reviews at the time of this writing and the most recent shared by Cara T on August 9, 2024, read: “This pizza got 6/5 stars and was the best thing I ate on my trip to Chicago!”

If you look at the full Yelp list, you’ll see that some impressive pizzerias have been recognized. It’s not entirely unexpected that a Chicago pizzeria would be at the top, but third place is still a great honor for a great restaurant.
