With Albertsons closing in Southern Utah, these are the six retailers you should consider moving in!

Today it was announced that some Albertson’s stores in Utah (now owned by Kroger) may be sold in the near future. Four Albertson’s stores, including the two in Washington County, are slated to be sold to other retailers.

  • Albertsons – 745 North Dixie Drive, St. George
  • Albertsons – 915 West Red Cliffs Road, Washington
  • Lucky Store – 729 North Redwood Road, Salt Lake City
  • Lucky Store – 6936 South Redwood Road, West Jordan

Washington Albertsons:

Dixie Drive Albertson’s:

If this actually happens and Albertson’s OUT OFand Kroger can’t fill the gap. Who can fill the gap at these huge locations?

Here are the TOP SPOTS that should take over these locations?!

WinCo:

This seems to be one of the most requested grocery stores (aside from Trader Joe’s). But I could see that happening! WINCO is unique because it is majority employee owned, so employees REALLY WANT the store will be successful because they have shares in it. They are located in Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington.

Whole foods:

Whole Foods is the MECCA for the health fanatics! I think it would really compete with Harmon’s and be incredibly successful in Southern Utah! They are also a subsidiary of Amazon. Both locations are GIGANTICso they could definitely accommodate a Whole Foods!

Publix:

Publix Super Markets are not only located in Florida, but throughout the United States. This may be a bit of a stretch, as they are mainly found in the South: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia.

Aldi:

Aldi was founded in 1961 and is a food discounter that serves people LOVE! Given the economic situation and the rampant inflation, a food discounter would be a great thing here!

Nordstrom Rack:

Shopping for clothes in St. George has ALWAYS We really need to step up our game if we are growing so fast. We are also becoming a tourist destination. Nordstrom Rack is REALLY nice clothes but still reduced. This store is maybe a little too big but I don’t mind it being a little bigger than the usual ones.

Menards:

Menards is a large chain in the Midwest. It’s like a home improvement store meets home decor meets grocery store. Imagine Home Depot and a smaller supermarket inside the store! It’s really great and I think it could do really well in the city!

What would YOU Would you like to see these two huge locations filled?!
