Willy Adames of the Brewers was in the parking lot ready for Jesse Winker of the Mets

According to sources, Winker was upset that Frankie Montas slapped him on the butt last Friday. When asked about the incident, Winker walked away, saying only, “Why?”

According to Jomboy (and essentially confirmed by Adames), after berating the Brewers and seeing Adames looking over, Winker kept repeating, “What are you going to do (about it)?” To which Adames replied, “I’ll give you after that.” Play notice in the parking lot.”

Adames told The Post: “He just started yelling right at me. I will not give in in the heat of the moment. So we just chirped. I don’t know what he was angry about.”

The Brewers would like to bring back Adames, who will be a free agent, but understand the chances are slim. He is expected to make at least $200 million for his 32-homer season.

“I want to come back. I love them and they love me,” Adames said. “But we can’t control that. We’ll see if they want me.”

The Dodgers made a valiant attempt to trade Adames in the spring. LA and the Giants and Braves, who have also pursued him, are among the likely pursuers.
