Why Derrick Henry left the Titans and signed with the Ravens: Career Chronicle

Derrick Henry will make his debut for the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night in the 2024 NFL season opener against Kansas City, his first NFL game in a uniform other than the Tennessee Titans.

After eight seasons, two NFL rushing titles, many stiff arms and a 99-yard run, Henry will be a Titans legend for life.

But he has a chance to cement his legacy and a potential Hall of Fame career in Baltimore.

The NFL’s active rushing leader joined Baltimore on a two-year deal this offseason after the Titans moved on from the Henry, Mike Vrabel and Ryan Tannehill era over the winter. Henry, 30, now has a great chance to improve his career record in a run-friendly offense alongside Lamar Jackson.

They also have the chance to win a Super Bowl for the first time. Baltimore is one of the AFC favorites, along with two-time Super Bowl winner Kansas City.

“I really wanted to be in a place where there was a solid foundation, and that foundation was laid a very long time ago,” Henry said during his introductory press conference in Baltimore.
