Park comes from Busan on the south coast of Korea and showed interest in the arts from a young age.
At first she thought her calling was music. In high school she was a singer in a band; she was persuaded to take acting classes to improve the emotional range of her singing.
Although we know her today as an actress, Park almost became a professional singer.
However, for logistical reasons, she was ultimately unable to take up the position.
It was after Park saw a production of the stage musical Cats that she decided to pursue a career as an actress. She studied acting at the Korea National University of Arts and appeared in several plays and student short films during this time.
Why we love them
Park’s energetic screen presence sets her apart from many of her peers. She often plays spirited characters who have no problem competing with male protagonists.
This may be partly due to their naturally athletic appearance.
The actress regularly posts updates on social media, with posts showing her playing tennis and practicing mixed martial arts. She is also an avid runner and cyclist, both of which she enjoys doing along the banks of the Han River in Seoul. She also enjoys bowling.
Park is known to interact a lot with her fans on Instagram, where she makes an effort to like and respond to comments.
Although Park is not a professional singer, she has maintained her passion for music. She is a poly-instrumentalist who can play drums, flute, violin and piano.
