White Sox hope rain won’t spoil Tuesday’s game against Angels – NBC Chicago

The Chicago White Sox aren’t looking to make history on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels, but Mother Nature will provide a new challenge.

Heavy rain is expected in the Chicago area on Tuesday; the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for parts of Cook County.

The rain is expected to continue into the afternoon hours, but could it ultimately affect the White Sox, who are trying to win their 121st Game of the season?

According to the NBC 5 Storm Team, it appears the rain will taper off during the afternoon and most of the precipitation will leave the region by the start of the evening rush hour.

It is likely that the rain will have stopped by the scheduled first pitch, giving the teams plenty of time to prepare the field for the opening game of the series between the two clubs.

Temperatures will certainly be rather cool and will drop to over 18 degrees during the first pitch.

The White Sox have tied the 1962 New York Mets for the most losing team in modern baseball history, and they’re not looking to break that record on Tuesday night. They currently have 120 losses on the year and have lost five games in a row before this game.
