Now The is BANANAS.

The Savannah Bananas just announced their 2025 schedule and this time the fun-loving franchise is playing in more MLB stadiums than ever before.

And yes, that includes two Banana Ball contests against the Firefighters at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th.

Two months earlier, the Bananas will take the field at the Red Sox’s Fenway Park on Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6.

Other notable stops on their MLB schedule include Truist Park in Atlanta (March 29-30), Busch Stadium in St. Louis (April 4-5), Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City (23-24). . May) and Angel Stadium in Anaheim (May 2). 30-31 July) and at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia (July 26-27).

This schedule release follows the announcement of the Banana Ball Championship League.

“Starting in 2026, the BBCL will have six teams playing a full Banana Ball schedule,” founder Jesse Cole shared via Instagram. “A 60-game season with new main events that will determine placement and playoff implications, culminating in a league champion.”

This year the league will expand to five teams; In previous years they only played the Party Animals and Aussie Dropbears.

In 2025, they will compete against the aforementioned Party Animals, as well as the Firefighters, Texas Tailgaters and the Visitors.

From October 2-4, two of these teams will meet in the 2025 World Tour Championship Series at Grayson Stadium in Savannah, Georgia.

About the Savannah bananas

After its founding in 2016, the Exhibition Barnstorming Baseball Team made a name for itself by embracing “exhibition” and “barnstorming” while halfway abandoning “baseball.”

The team now plays Banana Ball, which has peculiar rules such as foul balls caught by fans count as outs, games cannot last longer than two hours, and batters are allowed to steal first base.

That barely scratches the surface of the effectiveness of the innovative game.

As you may have noticed, in most games the Bananas face off against their esteemed rival, the Party Animals.

The team, also from Savannah, is tied with the Bananas.

“I think there are some guys that are an obvious fit for the Bananas and some that are an obvious fit for the Party Animals,” coach Nate Fish told Savannah Now after the team’s tryouts.

“We need the games to be really competitive. We can’t field a team. It’s not like the (Harlem) Globetrotters and the (Washington Generals). The games are not scripted. The games are highly competitive. Everyone can win. To do this, we have to pay attention to the balance.”
