Road trips in Montana are the best
Whether you do it for the ride, the busking, the scenery, the camaraderie, the destination, the brown historic signs, or the food on the road, there are enough roads in Montana for an adventure.
Why do I go on a road trip? Because of all of the above, but mostly because of the food. Come on, road trip food is great. Did you know that road trip food has no calories? It also has no sugar, no carbs, nothing but delicious. (The previous sentence might turn out to be a complete lie. I found it on the internet.)
Where is the best gas station food in Montana?
That’s a tricky question. Do you like the hot portions? Do you like chips, jerky and candy? Or are you looking for a gas station restaurant? Me? I can do all of those, but I especially like a gas station restaurant when I have the time.
Up until 2018 or so, MY favorite gas station restaurant in Shelby was when you come into town. It was in the Town Pump. I liked it so much because they had great breakfast and they were always open. Many nights after securing the bar, I would go to Shelby with a friend for some good food after a long night of beer. Unfortunately, that place is no longer there.
The best gas station food in Montana is:
Huck’s Grill in Saint Regis. Everywhere I looked, this restaurant always came out on top.
Huck’s Grill is located in the Saint Regis Travel Center. Click here to see the menu. It has mostly rave reviews on Yelp, especially for the huckleberry shakes. Oh man, this girl is truly a taste sensation.
So when you’re planning your next road trip, maybe plan a detour to Saint Regis for a delicious old Montana meal.
