When trying to shop at Trader Joe’s for /week, Aldi is better

  • I took my $40 weekly grocery budget that I normally spend at Aldi to Trader Joe’s for a change.
  • Pretty much everything my fiancée and I buy each week was more expensive at Trader Joe’s.
  • I liked the variety and quality of the products in the store, but I think I will stick with Aldi’s offerings.

My fiancée and I rely largely on our local Aldi in the Midwest for our grocery needs.

The store’s affordability and simplicity help us keep our weekly bill at or under $40. It’s also one of the fastest-growing grocery chains in the U.S., which will only make it more convenient in the years to come.

But I heard so many people rave about Trader Joe’s, and eventually my curiosity got the better of me. I decided to test how well I could replicate my normal weekly shopping list at the competitor.

This is how far I got with my $40 budget at Trader Joe’s.
