Tran’s journey is followed by another big moment for the franchise: the first season of “The Golden Bachelorette.”
Joan Vassos, a 61-year-old private school principal from Rockville, Maryland, had great success with “The Golden Bachelor” last fall and will now search for true love among a group of highly gifted bachelors as the lead actress of “The Golden Bachelorette.”

Who is Joan Vassos? Fans fell in love with her in episode 3 of “Golden Bachelor”
It’s hard to forget Vassos from episode 3 of “The Golden Bachelor”.
At a talent competition, the self-deprecating Vassos, who nervously claimed she had no talent, left nothing to chance. She read her poem about meeting Gerry: “I just hope I don’t puke on your shoes.”
The simple verse drew great laughter, but also touched Turner, who burst into tears as he listened. He chose Vassos as the talent show winner, and the two met at the solo dinner that followed, which ended with Turner giving her a rose and a kiss.
And yet the budding passion was in vain, as Vassos left The Golden Bachelor the next day in tears, receiving news that her daughter, who had undergone a difficult cesarean section, needed her mother’s love and intervention in real life.
Vassos returned in the November episode “Women Tell All.”
“It was so abrupt, like I had a score to settle,” Vassos said tearfully about Turner. “I saw a future together with someone.”
Vassos also expressed hope for a new romantic future with someone.
