When and where can you pre-order the PlayStation 5 Pro?

PlayStation 5 Pro launches on November 7, but pre-orders are open now for folks in the US and UK. The PS Direct store has been open for pre-orders since 10am EDT, so if you find yourself in a queue when you log into the site, hang in there because there’s a lot of traffic and you don’t want to lose your spot.

Other retailers have set up their landing pages, but the yet-to-be-released PlayStation 5 Pro console is still labeled as “coming soon.” Retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Target will reportedly not accept pre-orders until October 10th.

The PS5 Pro console can be pre-ordered from PS Direct for $700 and will be listed at the same price at other major retailers.

PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection

Alongside the standard PS5 in white and black, Sony has announced a sleek limited edition collection in honor of the original PlayStation’s 30th anniversary – featuring the retro grey colors inspired by Sony’s first console. I’m calling it “the coolest PlayStation console ever looked.” It comes with a DualSense controller, the upgraded DualSense Edge controller, and the PlayStation Portal handheld – all in matching PS1 looks.

Pre-orders for the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection are also available on PS Direct. The site currently has a lot of customers queuing up to place their pre-orders, so be prepared to wait when joining the queue. The wait time can be over an hour. The collection is priced at $1,000.

The 30th Anniversary Edition of the PS5 Pro console cannot be purchased individually outside of the bundle. However, DualSense ($80), Dual Sense Edge ($220), and PlayStation Portal ($220) can each be pre-ordered individually.

The retro color scheme isn’t exclusive to the Pro. The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition also has the cool new paint job (or I guess the old paint job) and can be pre-ordered from PS Direct for $500.

Improvements to the PS5 Pro

The Pro version of the Sony PlayStation 5 features a larger GPU, new SSR AI-based upscaling, advanced ray tracing, and a 2TB SSD (with expandable storage). Players can expect higher frame rates in games that offer these modes and better detail in Fidelity and Performance modes.

If you waited too long to get to the PS Direct website, or simply got passed by the waves of bots likely trying to buy up all the stock, you have a second chance to pre-order the PlayStation 5 Pro and all 30th Anniversary versions and accessories. Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target will all be taking pre-orders on October 10.
