What Mexican food does El Paso really hate?

El Paso is the world capital of Mexican cuisine and El Pasoans have countless places to get Mexican food.

In El Paso, you don’t have to travel far to find Mexican food, and even the “C” and “D” places are usually better than what you’ll find elsewhere. Trying to pick a favorite place is like picking your favorite child…

If you’re looking for something new, check out these places in the city that have delicious food as well as very cool things or stories to tell.

Almost as hard as choosing a favorite restaurant is choosing a favorite dish…they’re all so good. I’d venture a guess that tacos are the most popular dish in El Paso. Enchiladas probably come in second. If not, then probably third after tamales.

This is just a guess on my part. What I am wondering is, what is the the least Favorite Mexican dish. To answer this question, I used the most trusted, reliable, and absolutely accurate source I know of… Facebook.

The question was seen by, I assume, all 5,000 “friends,” and while not everyone responded, the answer still seems pretty clear. Higado encebollado (liver and onions) came up a few times… I guess we could give that 2nd place… and menudo got more frowns than I would have guessed. Not that I disagree.

The clear winner (or loser, I guess) kind of surprised me though. With around 90% of the votes and some of the more colorful comments, Mole attracted the most haters. (I’m one of them.)

The people have spoken.
