Week 4 NFL “TNF” Tips, Odds, Bets

When the NFL announced its Thursday Night Football schedule in May, the Week 4 game between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys seemed worthy of prime time.

But after disappointing 1-2 starts for both teams, this NFC East battle has lost some of its luster.

After losing their first two games, the Giants bounced back with a strong performance last week, defeating the Cleveland Browns on the road.

Meanwhile, Dallas has lost two straight home games.

The Cowboys entered the game as four-point favorites, but reached a lead of -6 at some sportsbooks, with 87 percent of the bets and 92 percent of the money going on Dallas.

Can the Cowboys get back on track or will the Giants extend their winning streak to two games?

Here are our best bets for “TNF.”

Cowboys vs. Giants is spreading

Both teams come into this match 1-2 on the moneyline and against the spread.

Since their Week 1 loss to Minnesota, the Giants have been much more competitive. They lost to a Washington team that beat the Bengals on the road by three points, and beat the Browns impressively on the road by six points.

It would have been more, but Devin Singletary made a jumper at the one-yard line to put the Giants in victory formation.

Even the loss to Washington could have been a win if Graham Gano hadn’t been injured in the opener.

While the Giants’ secondary is one of the weaker units in the league and would normally be a vulnerable part of their defense, they don’t have to cover the Cowboys’ receivers for long.

This luxury can be attributed to a combination of two factors: the Giants’ impressive pash rush (second in sack percentage and sixth in pash rushing grade, according to PFF) and Dallas’ inexperienced offensive line, which features two tackles (Tyler Guyton and Terence Steele). ), who are the 67th and 73rd highest rated people at their position.

Ultimately, things are looking up for Dallas as the Giants’ confidence grows by the day.

The Cowboys might be able to pull out a narrow away win, but six points on the road is a pretty significant limit given the favorites’ predicament.

Let’s help the G-Men spread.

Recommendation: Giants +6 (-110, BetMGM)

The sum

The total for this match remained relatively consistent at 45 points, slightly above where the line began (44.5).

Through the first three weeks, Dallas has posted an over record of 3-0, while the Giants have an over record of 0-3.

Despite their penchant for low-scoring games, there could be a shootout on Thursday night.

The Giants have improved on offense, scoring three offensive touchdowns in each of the last two games.

Betting on the NFL?

It certainly doesn’t hurt proponents of the over that the Cowboys have been an atrocity on defense, allowing opponents to score the third-most points for the fifth-most total yards per game.

Overall, PFF ranked Dallas as the NFL’s second-worst defense through the first three weeks.

Even a subpar Giants offense should have some success, especially if Singletary and Malik Nabers play as well as they have.

That’s a fair price for a line that I would price about two points higher.

Recommendation: Over 45 points (-110, BetMGM).
