“Disconnected Billionaire”: JD Vance as Taylor Swift supports Kamala Harris

Taylor Swift also made fun of JD Vance when she supported Kamala Harris

JD Vance, vice presidential running mate of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, today attacked American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift after she endorsed Kamala Harris. Swift expressed her support for the Democratic candidate in an Instagram post on Tuesday, calling her a “quiet, gifted leader.”

She captioned her post, which has received nearly 10 million likes so far, by calling herself a “childless cat lady,” a dig at JD Vance, who referred to some Democrats as a “bunch of childless cat ladies” in a 2021 interview. He has since said it was merely a sarcastic remark.

“We admire Taylor Swift’s music, but I don’t think most Americans – whether they like her music or are fans of her or not – are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who, in my opinion, is fundamentally out of touch with the interests and issues of most Americans,” Vance told Fox News.

“When food prices go up 20%, it affects most Americans. It doesn’t affect Taylor Swift. When housing prices become unaffordable, it doesn’t affect Taylor Swift or any other billionaire. It affects middle class Americans across the country,” he added.

Taylor Swift supports Kamala Harris

Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris minutes after the televised presidential debate between the Democrat and Donald Trump.

“I’m voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for the rights and causes that I believe need a fighter to represent them,” the 34-year-old singer said in a long post on Instagram.

“I believe we can achieve so much more in this country if we are guided by calm, not chaos,” she added.

Swift, one of the world’s most popular stars, urged her followers to “get informed.”

“I have done my research and made my decision,” she said, telling her fans, “You have to do your own research and the decision is yours.”

“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election,” the singer wrote on Instagram.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, sharply criticized Taylor Swift and said he was “not her fan.”

“I was not a Taylor Swift fan… she’s a very liberal person. She always seems to support a Democrat and will probably pay a price for that in the marketplace,” he told Fox News.
