After a seemingly certain loss in Philadelphia, the Atlanta Falcons snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat in Week 2. With a bit of luck in the form of a dropped pass on third down by Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, the Falcons found new life with less than two minutes left.
Kirk Cousins and the Falcons offense marched down the field in just over a minute and finished the drive with a touchdown pass to Drake London, giving them a 22-21 lead over Philadelphia with 34 seconds left (see below).
The game wasn’t over yet, however, and the defense needed one final stop. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts got his team moving before taking a hit that led to a missed throw in the final seconds.
Falcons safety Jessie Bates intercepted a ball and the team left Philadelphia with an improbable victory. Watch Bates’ game-winning interception below, shared on the NFL’s Twitter account.
