Walmart partners with Burger King for food offering

The logo of the US fast food company Burger King can be seen in a restaurant in Brüttisellen.

Walmart (WMT) announced Thursday that it has partnered with fast-food company Burger King to introduce a dining benefit for its Walmart+ members.

Walmart+ is a membership program that offers discounts and free shipping, similar to Amazon’s Prime program.

Through the new partnership, Walmart+ members will receive 25% off any digital order at Burger King. Starting in September, members will also be able to receive a free Whopper burger with every purchase every three months.

Walmart said the new benefit is “a convenient, cost-effective solution to accommodate food preferences and busy schedules while enjoying the legendary taste of Burger King.”

How it works

Walmart+ members can redeem the offer through the BK app or bk.com. Members must link their membership to their existing Burger King Royal Perks account or create a free account. Once linked, Walmart+ members can go to the Offers tab, select a participating Burger King location, add the offer to their cart and place their order.

The Burger King deals are offered to Walmart+ members at no additional cost.

Walmart+ costs $98/year or $12.95/month, and the membership combines digital and store benefits like free in-store delivery, free shipping with no minimum purchase, fuel and travel discounts, video streaming with Paramount+, early access and returns from home.
