UT’s most traditional food that the state is known for

Utah isn’t exactly known for its food, and although locals proudly boast about their Jell-O dishes and funeral potatoes, some disagree.

Apparently there are four foods in Utah that just don’t cut it. I’m about to break a few hearts with this one, but yes, funeral potatoes made the list. According to Taste Atlas, some of the foods Utahns are very proud of are rated the lowest. It’s a tragedy, I know.

First on the list is frog eye salad. While I think it can taste great when prepared correctly, I’ve had my share of bad frog eye salad. The mix of noodles and fruit is weird, but oddly good…just apparently not in Utah.

The next dish will really upset Utah’s grandmothers, but Jell-O. It came in at number two on the worst rated foods in Utah, so maybe it’s time to give up Jell-O dishes and maybe try a cake?

Next on the list isn’t surprising, as it’s more of an East Coast specialty. Pastrami burgers aren’t often found in Utah anyway, so finding a halfway decent one might be difficult. You’re most likely to find one in or around Salt Lake City.

And finally… funeral potatoes. While they’re probably one of the most well-known staples in Utah, I’m guessing they’re not as popular with folks from other states. This dish is very popular in LDS congregations and is made for pretty much any type of party. However, I still think they can’t hold a candle to mashed potatoes!

All 37 Minnesota restaurants featured on Food Network

Many Minnesota restaurants have been featured on the Food Network over the years. Some have since closed, but I searched the Food Network website, the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives website, and TVFoodMaps.com to find all of the Minnesota restaurants that have been featured on their channel in the past and found these 37 (in no particular order) that are still open.
