WARWICK – USA Today, published by Gannett, owner of the Providence Journal and a national newspaper chain, has named Rhode Island TF Green International Airport one of the 20 best small airports in the country and is asking readers to vote on which is the best small airport.
Last year, Green ranked seventh in USA Today’s travel awards, with the newspaper writing, “Loyal fans of Rhode Island’s TF Green Airport love it as an alternative to Boston Logan International because it’s less crowded and has quick access to Providence and Boston via its own train station. It’s also an excellent option for travelers heading to Cape Cod.”
This year’s competition features last year’s top four airports: Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan; Huntsville International Airport in Huntsville, Alabama; Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita, Kansas; and Myrtle Beach International Airport in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
This year’s voting is open and lasts until Monday, September 23rd, 12:00 noon.
