Alex Pereira will fight for the third time in 2024 when he defends his UFC light heavyweight title against Khalil Rountree Jr. in the co-main event of UFC 307 on Oct. 5 in Salt Lake City. UFC CEO Dana White also announced that Raquel Pennington will put her women’s bantamweight title on the line against former champion Julianna Pena at the event. Pereira (11-2), a 37-year-old Brazilian, knocked out two former champions, Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka, earlier this year at UFC 300 and UFC 303, respectively.
Rountree (19-5) last competed in December, winning by knockout over former light heavyweight contender Anthony Smith. Rountree recently served a two-month suspension for taking a banned substance.

Pennington (16-8) will attempt to successfully defend her title for the first time since defeating Mayra Bueno Silva in January.
