The UFC makes its debut at The Sphere in Las Vegas on Saturday with a main event featuring Sean O’Malley putting his bantamweight title on the line against Merab Dvalishvili.
O’Malley comes into this fight having avenged his only career loss, defeating Marlon “Chito” Vera in his first title defense at UFC 299.
He now faces Georgian wrestler Dvalishvili, who is on a seemingly unstoppable winning streak of ten straight fights, with former champions José Aldo, Petr Yan and Henry Cejudo all falling victim to the 33-year-old.
The program also features a strong opening act: Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko compete against each other in a three-way fight for the women’s flyweight title.

How to watch UFC 306 in the USA
The UFC has a long-standing partnership with ESPN. This is great news for the UFC and the expansion of the sport of MMA, but bad news for the purchasing decisions of UFC fans in the United States.
If you’re in the US and want to watch UFC 306, you can only watch the fight night in pay-per-view format via ESPN Plus. The cost structure is a bit confusing, but according to the ESPN website, here are the ways to watch UFC on ESPN:
- Existing annual ESPN Plus subscribers can order the upcoming UFC card for $80.
- New ESPN Plus subscribers can purchase a package that includes the UFC 306 PPV event (streaming in HD) and an ESPN Plus annual subscription for $135. This is a great deal. The ESPN Plus annual subscription will automatically renew after one year at the price of an ESPN Plus annual subscription at the time of auto-renewal.

If you can’t watch UFC 306 locally because incorrectly applied blackout restrictionsyou may need another way to watch the fight, and this is where using a VPN can help. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on fight night by encrypting your traffic. Plus, it’s a great idea if you’re traveling and connected to a Wi-Fi network and want to add an extra layer of privacy to your devices and logins.
A VPN lets you virtually change your location on your phone, tablet, or laptop to gain access to the matchup. So if your ISP or mobile provider has assigned you an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a restricted zone, a VPN can fix that problem by assigning you an IP address in your correct, unblocked area. Most VPNs, like our Editors’ Choice, ExpressVPN” target=”_blankmake it really easy to do this.
Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in all countries where VPNs are legal, including the US and Canada, as long as you have a valid subscription to the service you’re streaming. You should make sure your VPN is set up correctly to avoid leaks: even when VPNs are legal, the streaming service may block the account of anyone it deems to be bypassing correctly applied blocking restrictions.

That works out to $6.67 per month with the code SPECIAL OFFERwhich should be applied automatically.
Note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

- Because there are four variables at play – your ISP, browser, video streaming provider, and VPN – your experience and success streaming UFC 306 may vary.
- If your desired location does not appear as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the “Search by city or country” option.
- If you’re having trouble getting reception after turning on your VPN and setting it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try to find a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered to the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address stored on your account. Second, some smart TVs – like Roku – don’t have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll need to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you’re using (such as your phone) so that every device on its Wi-Fi network will now show up in the correct viewing location.
- All of the VPN providers we recommend offer helpful instructions on their main page to quickly install the VPN on your router. In some cases, with smart TV services, after installing a cable network’s sports app, you’ll be asked to confirm a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. Again, having a VPN on your router is helpful here, as it will show both devices in the correct location.
- And remember that browsers can often reveal a location even when using a VPN, so make sure you use a browser that puts privacy first to log into your services. We usually recommend Brave.
