Tulane Announces 2024 Fall Ball Schedule – Crescent City Sports

NEW ORLEANS – Two home practice games, 30 days of practice, an alumni game and the Fall Ball World Series are the highlights of the Tulane University baseball team’s 2024 Fall Ball schedule, head coach Jay Uhlman announced Friday.

The Green Wave opens the fall ball schedule with the first official day of practice on Thursday, October 17. The team will play the annual Alumni Game on Sunday, October 20, concluding Alumni Weekend, which officially begins with a team meeting on Friday, October 19.

The team will then participate in two home practice games against Pearl River Community College on Saturday, October 26th and Nicholls on Saturday, November 2nd.

In 2018, the NCAA began allowing Division I baseball teams to play two fall practice games against foreign opponents without counting them toward the spring schedule.

On Thursday, November 21st, Tulane begins its Fall Ball World Series. The Fall World Series ends on Sunday, November 23rd.

All exhibition games and practices will take place at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. Admission is free and spectators can watch the games.

Tulane is returning 22 players this season: Carter Benbrook (P), James Agabedis III (INF), Gavin Schulz (INF/OF), Brock Slaton (OF), Connor Rasmussen (INF), Matthias Haas (INF/OF), Michael Lombardi (P/INF), William Good (C/INF), Jackson Linn (OF), Tayler Montiel (P), Alex Ainsworth (P), Will Clements (P), Gavin Smith (P), Luc Fladda (P ), Tracy Mitchem (1B/OF), Henry Shuffler (P), Jacob Moore (P), Logan Hurd (P), Jack Bussard (P), Blaise Wilcenski (P), Wes Burton (P) and Trey Cehajic (P ). The program also welcomed 22 new additions: Kaikea Harrison (INF), Drew Harrison (INF/P), Dominic Pieto (P), Theo Bryant IV (OF), Boots Landry (1B), Tanner Chun (OF), Mikey Valdivia (INF ), Garrett Payne (P), Julius Ejike-Charles (OF/LHP), Andrew McKenna (C), Hugh Pinkney (C), JD Rodriguez (P), Nate Johnson (INF), Kross Howarth (P), John- Paul Sauer (P), Nick Diehl (1B), Jason Wachs (OF), Michael Devenney (P), Giancarlo Arencibia (P), Grant Wilson (OF), Grayson Smith (P) and Aaron Babaev (OF).

Tulane’s baseball team went 36-26 in the 2024 season, captured the AAC championship for the second consecutive year and secured a postseason berth at the NCAA Regionals for the second consecutive year under the watchful eye of Coach Uhlman. The team defeated Nicholls 3-0 at the Regionals, earning the team’s first NCAA shutout since 2005 against Rice at the Super Regionals. The win was the team’s first in the NCAA Tournament since 2016, when the team defeated Utah 4-1. Four players from the program were drafted in the 2024 MLB Draft: Chadler Welch, Colin Tuft, Brady Marget and Teo Banks. Tulane now has 135 total draft picks, including 18 since 2019.
