Tucker Carlson kicks off a 16-city tour with Russell Brand in Phoenix, Arizona

Right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson began his 16-date live tour in Arizona on Wednesday night. But instead of his usual political focus, Carlson’s evening revolved around his faith.

Carlson’s opening remarks at the packed Footprint Center avoided any political discussion and only mentioned Donald Trump a few times.

“I just couldn’t wait to meet other people who are on the same wavelength as me,” Carlson said, drawing loud applause from the audience.

Joining him on stage was British comedian and actor Russell Brand, who recently converted to Christianity.

Brand, who performed barefoot, was accused of abuse, which he denies.

The two spent much of the night discussing their shared Christian identity, engaging in a sermon-like conversation. Brand added, “After this election, you will be the heirs of the new United States of America.”

The tone of the event continued to be predominantly religious, although political elements were also present.

Carlson received a standing ovation after a video montage of dystopian images and critical interviews with Democratic figures such as Vice President Kamala Harris.

The evening ended with Carlson leading the audience in prayer.

Viewers like Phoenix resident Deirdre Mischelle Scanlan noticed the synergy between Carlson and Brand.”

It’s a free media,” she said. “We share the fears about the deep state and the fact that we don’t seem to be getting the truth.”

For participants like Alexandrea Iverson, who traveled from North Carolina to attend the event, Carlson’s message was politically invigorating.

“I’m a Kennedy supporter, and when I say Kennedy is my man, everyone says, ‘Oh, isn’t he crazy?’ But not tonight.”

Carlson’s 16-stop tour, featuring special guests such as Alex Jones and Donald Trump Jr., will continue in the crucial swing states ahead of the 2024 election, in which Arizona’s political importance plays a major role.
