Tri-state school closures and early dismissals due to weather

CINCINNATI (WXIX) — Several schools in the Tri-State are closed or will close early Friday due to dangerous weather conditions.

According to weather team FOX19 NOW, the Tri-State is experiencing the remnants of now Tropical Storm Helene.

The Tri-State will experience the heaviest rain and wind Friday afternoon between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning until 10 p.m

Here is the list of schools that are closed or will close early Friday:

  • Augusta Independent Schools – Closed Friday
  • Bracken County Schools – Closed Friday
  • Calvary Christian Sch/TaylorMill – Closing at 1 p.m
  • Carroll County Schools – Closed Friday
  • Covington Indpt Public Schools – Closing at 1:00 p.m
  • Gallatin County Schools – Closed Friday
  • Grant County Schools – Closed Friday
  • Henry Co Schools – Closed Friday
  • Heritage Academy – Graduation at 12:30 p.m
  • Kenton County Schools – Two hours early dismissal. All evening activities are canceled
  • Mason County Schools – Closed Friday, NTI Day 1
  • Pendleton County Schools-NT1I Day #1
  • Robertson Co Schools – Closed Friday, NT1 Day #1
  • Southwest Local Schools football in Campbell County; Postponed to Saturday at 11am
  • St. Pius/ Northern Ky – Closed at 11:55am
  • Switzerland County-Closed
  • Williamstown Independent Schools – closed at 12:15 p.m. due to weather
