A traveler who attempted to pass through a Florida airport using another person’s ID was arrested after facial recognition technology caught the offense.

According to WFLA.com, 38-year-old Brittany Lynn Anderson was traveling through Tampa International Airport when she attempted to pass through a credential authentication device in Gate A.

When the machine reported a mismatch, a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer was assigned to manually check the Spirit Airlines ID and boarding pass. The officer quickly determined that the documents were in someone else’s name, but Anderson said she had been through some “rough times” and “that’s why she looks different on her ID.”

Anderson reportedly admitted to asking a friend to buy the ticket for her because her ID had expired, but upon verification, it was discovered that the boarding pass and ID belonged to someone currently in prison.

When the woman showed the TSA officer her expired ID, he discovered that Anderson had a warrant out for her arrest in Pennsylvania for “financial obligation.” She was then arrested for criminal use of personal identification information.

TSA agents said the access authentication device is equipped with cameras and a tablet to “match the face of the person at the checkpoint with the face on the traveler’s identification, such as a driver’s license or passport.”
