Tournament raises money for the Schaumburg Park Foundation

On Wednesday, golfers teed off at Schaumburg Golf Club for a chance to win the coveted Links Technology Cup, but the real winners are the children who will benefit from the event.

The annual tournament, sponsored by Links Technology Solutions among others, is a fundraiser for the Schaumburg Park Foundation. The organization provides scholarships and grants to enable those in need to participate in recreational opportunities and provides funds to preserve open space, culture and education in Schaumburg.

Groups of four competed for the Cup, while individual golfers competed in contests for longest putt, closest to the pin and longest drive. The day ended with dinner at Chandler’s Chophouse.

Among the players was Sharookh “Sid” Sidhwa of Schaumburg, who played in a rare foursome consisting entirely of left-handers.

“There are challenging holes and easy holes, but overall the quality of the course is very good. The greens are so beautiful,” he said. “It’s just the perfect course for a day like this. And it’s for a good cause too.”
