Tornado spotted near Alligator Alley

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla – A tornado was spotted near Alligator Alley in Broward County on Wednesday morning.

According to Local 10 meteorologist Brandon Orr, the tornado occurred in the Everglades and did not impact homes or businesses. He said it was hard to say whether it actually crossed Alligator Alley.

The sighting came after the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for seven counties, including mainland Monroe, Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach, until 9 p.m. Wednesday. A tropical storm warning is also in effect for South Florida.

Local 10 viewers also reported seeing tornadoes throughout the morning in Southwest Ranches, Pembroke Pines and Weston.
