So Chris Godwin is having an excellent season. He’s on track for a monster year, the best of his career. On Sunday, Godwin showed his consistent performance, with 6 catches for 69 yards and a grab being outstanding.

Todd Bowles was asked about Godwin on his Buccaneers Radio Network show yesterday. Specifically, the question posed to Bowles involved the head coach detailing what has allowed Godwin to be so consistent and successful in this year’s offense.

“I think he’s having fun. I think he loves the offense he plays in,” Bowles responded. “He has great hands and is a great competitor. But I think he’s out there just having a lot of fun right now.”

So Godwin was devastated on offense last season and wasn’t having as much fun that it affected his game? It sounds like Bowles would answer “yes” to that question if he wasn’t at the microphone and wasn’t being watched by the media.

Joe also thinks Godwin is having a lot of fun because he’s becoming the best wide receiver available in free agency this offseason. That would give him a gigantic payday.
