TIKTOK star Danae Hays and his wife Mandie Kaii have separated after three years of marriage.
The former couple initially confirmed their separation in a joint Instagram statement, writing: “We are both deeply saddened to announce that we have decided to go our separate ways.”
They added: “This decision was not easy for us as we both have so much love and respect for each other… but it is truly the best thing for both of us.”
Danae and Mandie, who tied the knot on April 3, 2021, acknowledged that “a large part of our relationship has been in the public eye,” but asked their fans to respect “our privacy” during “this extremely difficult time.”
The Nashville comedian later admitted in a TikTok message to her followers: “I am so ready to get through this.”
“From this pain, from this sorrow. From this feeling of hopelessness,” Danae continued.
“HEALING JOURNEY”
“There are moments when you see someone else going through something and you think, ‘Thank God I don’t have to go through that,’ or ‘I’ll never have to go through that.’
“And then you do it and it takes you on a damn roller coaster ride,” she said.
While thanking her fans for their love and support, Danae shared that her return to work “making other people laugh” would be “part of my healing process.”
“A chapter is coming to an end, but I am ready to begin the healing process and come out on the other side,” she concluded.
As People reported, Danae met influencer Mandie on Instagram in 2016.
They decided to meet in person after some chatting before Danae and Mandie finally tied the knot in 2021.
They documented their life together in several social media posts, with Danae and Mandie regularly appearing on each other’s Instagram pages.
On April 3, Mandie celebrated their third wedding anniversary by sharing their wedding video, which includes several clips of the two dancing together during the reception.
“Have a nice day to you and me,” she wrote under the post.
Mandie also often made cameo appearances in her ex-wife’s TikTok comedy sketches.

Before she met and eventually married Mandie, Danae lived with her parents in a small town in Alabama.
“LOVE IS LOVE”
In an interview with LGBTQ Nation, she revealed that her mother sent her to conversion therapy at the age of nine after Danae told her she was attracted to girls.
At the age of 25, she moved away from her hometown, met Mandie and publicly acknowledged her sexual identity.
In June 2020, Danae celebrated Pride Month for the first time in an Instagram post as a “confident lesbian woman… soon to be married woman.”
She described her journey of unlearning beliefs that had been “instilled in me since childhood” before developing a new value system that “revolves primarily around LOVE.”
“I finally realized that MY well-being and happiness were much more important than the people who tried to tell me otherwise. Love is love, there is no gay or straight love… it is just… love,” she affirmed.
