TikTok partners with Amazon to enable ‘frictionless shopping’

TikTok announced that it is partnering with Amazon to provide a “frictionless shopping experience” and give users the ability to shop on Amazon directly from the TikTok app.

The social media company made the announcement in a blog post:

Users can now discover and purchase their favorite Amazon products directly within the TikTok app. This shopping experience is powered by Amazon through ads placed on TikTok and allows users to complete product purchases on Amazon within TikTok’s native environment.

The company explained the details of how the service works:

  • Shoppers will see Amazon product recommendations in the For You feed. When they’re ready to purchase, users can link their TikTok account to their Amazon account through a secure, quick and easy one-time setup.
  • Once the accounts are linked, Amazon customers will be able to complete an Amazon checkout in the product display without leaving the TikTok app – allowing for a faster, smoother experience.
  • Users who link their accounts in the US will see real-time pricing, Prime eligibility, delivery estimates, and product details on select Amazon product ads in TikTok as part of the experience.
  • Users can unlink their Amazon account at any time in TikTok’s app settings.
