Thunderstorms, risk of tornadoes possible on Tuesday

The Greater Cincinnati area will finally see some short-term drought relief, as parts of southwest Ohio and northern Kentucky are expected to see rainfall on Tuesday and through the rest of the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a low pressure system will bring showers and thunderstorms to the Ohio Valley region on Tuesday. A few severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The greatest danger will be destructive winds. One or two tornadoes cannot be ruled out, according to a weather forecast. Temperatures will be between 21 and 27 degrees.

Drier weather is expected from Wednesday to Thursday, before a tropical system with a chance of precipitation moves in later this week and into the weekend.

Temperatures will be in keeping with the season and will be between 24 and 27 degrees throughout the weekend. Slightly cooler temperatures are expected on Monday, with highs between 24 and 27 degrees.
