Three RISD High Schools Earn AP National Honor Roll Status – Richardson ISD

Lake Highlands, Pearce and Richardson high schools were recognized for their outstanding work in enrolling students in Advanced Placement (AP) courses and supporting students on the path to college success.

The new College Board AP School Honor Roll is a prestigious annual recognition program that honors schools nationwide whose AP programs have met specific criteria for senior students. At least 40% of the schools’ graduating students must have taken at least one AP class during their high school career, with at least a quarter of these students receiving a grade of C or higher on the AP test.

The College Board also measures the number of graduates who took five or more AP tests during high school, with at least one of those exams taken as a freshman or sophomore, to indicate that “students have completed their AP experience spread across grade levels rather than putting disproportionate pressure on each other every single year.”

Richardson and Pearce received silver awards and Lake Highlands received bronze awards for the 2023-2024 school year.

Congratulations to all students, teachers, coaches and administrators!
