ERIE – Warren’s girls golf team finished third in the Region 3 Mega Match, the season opener at JC Martin Golf Course, on Wednesday.
McDowell took first place in the opening match with a team score of 250. Fort LeBoeuf was second with 265, followed by Warren with 272. Erie High finished a distant fourth with 304 and Meadville shot 317.
Cassidy Conn of Fort LeBouf won the medal with 77, followed by Genelia Kang of McDowell with 81. Maddie Walker led for Warren with 89, followed by Allie Lauffenburger with 91, Kate Shippee with 92, JoJo Gray with 106 and Elissa Errett with 110.
The Lady Dragons return all seven players from last year and have two new players on this year’s team. The team consists of five senior players – Walker, Lexi Paris, Marisa Palmieri, Lauffenburger and Katharine Smith – and three junior players – Errett, Gray and Maelee Mandeviile. Shippee is a sophomore.
