The offense is running again, but Bears lead the Rams 10-6 at halftime

The Bears didn’t do much offensively, but still led the Rams 10-6 at halftime at Soldier Field.

Quarterback Caleb Williams completed 8 of 13 passes for 71 yards in the first half, for a passer rating of 76.1, and D’Andre Swift was their leading rusher with 26 yards on six carries. The Rams were one of the worst defensive teams in the NFL this season.

The Bears got their first point with 5:42 left in the second quarter on a one-yard touchdown run by Roschon Johnson.

This possession began at the Rams’ 16-yard line after the strip sack by Montez Sweat and a recovery by cornerback Kyler Gordon. From there, Williams threw incomplete, Swift ran for a yard and the Bears caught a break when Rams cornerback Tre’Davious White intercepted Keenan Allen with a pass to give them first-and-goal at the 1-yard line to take the lead.

The offense’s longest drive came at the end of the first half, when they went 45 yards and Cairo Santos took a 10-6 lead with a field goal.

The Rams advanced into the goal zone three times but only conceded six points.

Allen, who missed the last two games with a heel injury, returned and had one catch for five yards.

Here are the Bears’ inactives:

WR/RB Velus Jones
FB Khari Blasingame
OL Bill Murray
EN Dominique Robinson
CB Terrell Smith
DT Zach Pickens

The Bears and Rams both started the game 1-2. The Bears won their opener against the Titans before dropping road games against the Texans and Colts.
