The Monster Hunter Wilds team will use the feedback from Gamescom to bring the game to the desired quality level

Monster Hunter Wilds was arguably the biggest game at Gamescom 2024, at least judging by the hours-long queues to play the game in the public area and the wins at the official awards.

This was the first time the game was playable, and producer Ryozo Tsujimoto told Gamereactor that CAPCOM will use the feedback collected from press and players to bring the major game to the desired quality level.

I’ve had great feedback so far. We’ve had so many great reactions from everyone who tried our show floor demo. I’ll be coming back to Japan and bringing all the feedback and passion I’ve experienced from the fans here. By sharing this with the extended development team, I think it will really motivate them to keep going on this final stretch of development.

There are still a few things that need to be finalized before we release Monster Hunter Wilds. But this was the first time anyone outside of the company played the game, so I think we have a lot of feedback to take into account. We’ll be able to see the reactions from press and players at this event. And like I said, I’m not just going to bring this back to motivate the team and make them happy and excited. But there’s a lot for us to do and see what we can do to polish the game in the final stages of development and make sure we can give you the best experience possible. Because the scope of the game is so much bigger now and the volume of content is so much bigger, that just means more development work for us to get the game to the level of quality that we’re happy with.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like Monster Hunter Wilds won’t be releasing until 2025, unlike Monster Hunter World, which debuted in late January 2018. However, that’s just speculation on our part for now. CAPCOM will surely finalize release details before the end of the year and may announce the news at The Game Awards. In the meantime, stay tuned to Wccftech for our own experiences from Gamescom.
