KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) – Fans heading to the game against KC Current should probably allow a little extra time to get to the stadium.
Earlier this month, workers on the KC Streetcar Extension project closed the Grand Boulevard Bridge from 2nd Street to Front Street.
Workers do the necessary work before laying the tracks for the tram.
Unfortunately, the Grand Boulevard Bridge is the bridge that the shuttles normally use to take fans from the River Market to CPKC Stadium on game days.
Vehicle diversion
All motorists in the area are asked to head north from the River Market, turn onto Independence Avenue, then head north on the Paseo until it meets northbound Interstate 29. From there, drivers should take the Front Street exit just before the Kit Bond Bridge.
Diversion for pedestrians/cyclists
Those on foot or by bike can use the Town of Kansas Bridge, which is located just north of 2nd Street on Main Street. Stairs lead to the river level, and walking east will eventually bring you to Berkley Riverfront Park.
Work on this part of the project is expected to be completed in approximately two months.
