The Broncos’ Tyler Badie was sidelined in the game against the Jets with a back injury

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie was loaded onto a stretcher and carried off the field at MetLife Stadium during the second quarter against the New York Jets on Sunday.

Badie fumbled the ball on a third-down play late in the first quarter after appearing to be hit in the back by Jets linebacker Quincy Williams. Badie walked off the field under his own power and television footage showed him holding his lower back as he reached the sideline. During the break between the first and second quarters, trainers put Badie in a neck brace and placed him on a stretcher before he was wheeled into a tunnel.

Badie was originally listed as questionable due to a back injury, but then the team assumed Badie would be out for the remainder of the game.

Badie, who entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2022, is now in his third season with the Broncos. In a Week 3 win against the Buccaneers, he rushed for a team-high 70 yards on nine carries and was promoted to the practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster this week after linebacker Alex Singleton was placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL.

Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. suffered a rib injury early in the first quarter after being illegally hit by Jets receiver Irvin Charles on a punt return play. Mims was initially considered questionable due to a rib injury, but returned to the game.
