The best WNBA rookie in the new 2K video game is…a tie between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese with a total of 90

Damn, looks like I’m ending my 15-day streak of not blogging about women’s basketball, but how am I supposed to stay silent about this? Look, I love the 2K sports games as much as the next guy, but we may need to get rid of the guy in charge of the player rankings of these WNBA players, or at least send him back to ranking school. Because in what damn world are Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese TIED at 90? I know it was a little dicey for a second when Dawn Staley and Shaq tried to make it seem like these two were on the same court, but didn’t we put in the 30 seconds it took to prove otherwise? I mean, look at these two in the WNBA so far:

Uh, yeah, give me either one. No difference between them. Flip a coin and I’ll take either one.

The fact is, Caitlin should probably be a 93 overall and Angel Reese somewhere around… 80? Look, I really don’t care, but if you’ve ever watched a game (I just wiped out 99% of you), the fact that anyone could call them equally talented and/or valuable might be the most outrageous thing in the history of the world. By the way, those numbers, with Caitlin being better at every single one, include the fact that Caitlin’s teammates miss layups to make her stats look worse while Angel misses her own layups and gets the offensive rebound boost. Also, I’d say it’s very, very clear that the Chicago Sky don’t give a damn about anything except making Angel look better than she is. But the 2K ratings fell for it, because not only are they tied in rookie ratings, Angel and Caitlin are both the 11th best female players in the entire sport.

And the next 5 are the only other 5 with a total score above 90. Hmmm… so if Caitlin and Angel are both top 12 players in the league, why shouldn’t they be on the Olympic team? Okay, that’s enough time for today devoted to this topic. Maybe I’ll take the weekend and do my own personal WNBA player ratings.
