Here’s a curated list of the best food and drink events in Santa Cruz County for the coming week. At the top, I share my picks for the can’t-miss local happenings.
The second and final farmers market brunch of the season will take place Saturday at the Westside Market in Santa Cruz starting at 9 a.m. At this event, Chef Diego Felix of Fonda Felix and Colectivo Felix will prepare a multi-course feast inspired by the flavors of South America and prepared with produce and ingredients from nearby farms. This series of events is designed to celebrate and raise awareness of local agriculture and raise money for the Santa Cruz Community Farmers’ Market’s educational programs. Tickets range from $75 to $150 (on a sliding scale) and include coffee and wine pairing.
The ninth annual Farm to Fork Gala will be held Saturday evening at the La Selva Beach Clubhouse. The program includes a wine tasting reception, live and still auctions with some high-priced items, live music and a summer menu created by Chef Molly Bravo. The Farm to Fork Gala celebrates the local nonprofit organization Community Bridges’ family of programs that provide essential services and resources in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties and recognizes the achievements of individuals and organizations. Tickets are $175.
