When it comes to watching the best heist movies on Netflix, it’s no surprise that the streaming service has quite a wide selection to choose from. The heist genre has produced many hits, not least because heist movies are just so damn fun.
With Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky rising up the Netflix top 10 this week (more on that movie below), it seemed like the perfect time to compile a list of the best heist movies Netflix has to offer. To do so, we assembled a team that includes a racetrack robbery, a former getaway driver trying to save his girlfriend, a couple of Vietnam vets looking for gold, a group of former Delta Force soldiers preparing to rob a drug lord, and one of the most-watched Netflix movies of all time. If any group is capable of stealing your time and attention, it’s this one.
Here are the five best heist movies on Netflix that you must watch now.
“Logan Lucky” (2017)
Watch on
Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum) is a construction worker for a company that is working on the tunnels under the Charlotte Motor Speedway. However, when his manager finds out that Jimmy sustained leg injuries while playing high school football, he is fired for insurance reasons.
To get revenge – and make up for his lost income – Jimmy recruits his brother Clyde (Adam Driver) to rob the racetrack using the pneumatic tube system that transports money through the underground tunnels. To do so, they must recruit a team consisting of their younger sister Mellie (Riley Keough), safecracker Joe Bang (Daniel Craig), and Joe’s brothers Sam (Brian Gleeson) and Fish (Jack Quaid). There are just two problems: They have to steal the money on the racetrack’s busiest weekend… and they have to bail Joe out of jail first.

“Baby Driver” (2017)
Watch on
Miles (Ansel Elgort), known as “Baby” to his criminal friends, is one of Atlanta’s best getaway drivers. He meets Debora (Lily James), a waitress at a local diner, and when a robbery goes wrong, he leaves his life of crime behind to deliver pizza and focus on his life with her.
Unfortunately, escaping the criminal world is never that easy. Baby learns this when the crime boss he worked for, “Doc” (Kevin Spacey), threatens Baby on a date with Debora. Now Baby must help Doc pull off a mail heist with an unstable team that includes Bonnie and Clyde duo “Darling” (Eiza González) and “Buddy” (Jon Hamm), as well as Doc’s murderous henchman “Bats” (Jamie Foxx). “Baby Driver” may be on the serious side of the gangster movie spectrum, but rest assured that it never lets up.

“Da 5 Bloods” (2020)
Watch on
During the Vietnam War, 1st Infantry Division soldiers Paul (Delroy Lindo), Otis (Clarke Peters), Eddie (Norm Lewis), Melvin (Isiah Whitlock Jr.) and their squad leader Norman (Chadwick Boseman) steal a box of gold bars from a CIA plane crash. They manage to bury the gold, but are unable to recover it before Norman is killed in a Viet Cong counterattack and an airstrike puts the gold out of reach.
Decades later, the same soldiers return to Vietnam and join forces with French businessman Desroche to finally recover the lost gold. Part gangster film, part Vietnam War drama, Da 5 Bloods shines thanks to its star-studded cast and direction by Spike Lee. It’s definitely one of the top five gangster films currently on Netflix, hands down.

“Triple Frontier” (2019)
Watch on
Speaking of strong casts, the cast of Triple Frontier is hard to beat. Granted, heist movies often assemble talented ensembles because a heist itself requires a talented ensemble cast, but this crew of former Delta Force agents featuring Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund, and Pedro Pascal is hard to beat.
In Triple Frontier, Santiago “Pope” Garcia (Isaac) works with local police in Colombia to fight drug cartels. He assembles this team of special forces after an informant (Adria Arjona) tips him off that Colombian drug lord Gabriel Martin Lorea has $75 million in stash just waiting to be claimed. Convincing his brothers in arms to steal the money and get to Colombia is the (relatively) easy part for Pope. The hard part is getting out of Colombia alive.

“Red Notice” (2021)
Watch on
Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) is the second most wanted art thief in the world. Until he is caught by FBI profiler John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) and Interpol stealing one of Cleopatra’s lost jewel eggs from Rome. But before he can put Booth behind bars, Booth’s rival “The Bishop” (Gal Gadot) steals the egg and frames Hartley, whereupon both Booth and Hartley end up in a Russian prison. Now this unlikely duo must escape from prison, steal the egg back from the Bishop and clear their names.
Red Notice certainly doesn’t lack star-studded or style. And it doesn’t lack twists either. While critics largely panned the film, audiences loved it, giving it a 92% “Popcornmeter” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. If you’re looking for a gangster movie that can be described as entertaining rather than great, this is the film for you.
