Sunshine early in the week offers October’s rare 70s, then rainy days

SEATTLE – High temperatures in Seattle and Puget Sound will warm to the low to mid 70s Monday afternoon! This warm-up is accompanied by dry weather and stunning October sunshine.

Temperatures above 70° are rare in the Seattle area in October, although they are not unheard of. On average, Sea-Tac Airport experiences temperatures of at least 70 degrees twice in October. The average last 70 degree day each year in Sea-Tac is October 8th.

The weather in Seattle will be sunny and dry for the Seahawks game on Sunday afternoon.

After working through some patches of fog this morning, plenty of sunshine is forecast for the rest of the day. The weather will be great for the Seahawks game this afternoon.

Later this evening there is a small chance of seeing the Northern Lights near the Canadian border, but remember: Predicting space weather is challenging and subject to change. Additionally, cloud cover near Canada could reduce visibility somewhat.

After perfect autumn weather on Monday afternoon, temperatures will cool down slightly on Tuesday. Showers are possible from Tuesday to Wednesday. Thursday looks dry at the moment. Wet weather could return Friday evening and into Saturday.
