“Station 19” star Jaina Lee Ortiz announces final “crazy crossover” with “Grey’s Anatomy”

As Station 19 begins its final season, it looks like there’s going to be a lot of drama going on. And besides, it might take more than just the first responders from the Seattle Fire Department to put out the flames.

In an interview with TVInsider before the premiere on March 14, Jaina Lee Ortiz (who plays Captain Andy Herrera) gave a taste of what fans can expect from the final episodes. While she didn’t give too much away about what’s still to come from the ABC drama, she did give a sneak peek at a major plot moment planned for later this season.

The star revealed that before the series ends, fans will see the firefighters of Station 19 interact with another group of heroes – the doctors and interns of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Previous seasons have featured a number of crossover events, such as Station 19 is a spin-off of Grey’s Anatomy. But as Station 19 Jaina concludes the characters’ stories and implies that viewers can expect a number of new twists as the show collides with Grey’s Anatomy Season 20.
