Social Security Supplemental Income recipients expecting a check this week may be disappointed because no payment will be sent in September. We’ll explain why. The payment schedule may change from month to month, depending on what day the month begins. Below, we’ll lay out the payment schedule for the rest of the year so you know exactly when you’ll get your next check. In case you didn’t already know, the amount of your checks may increase later this year.
Supplemental Security Income is a program of the Social Security Administration. It benefits eligible recipients with limited income and resources, as well as people with disabilities. Blind or disabled children may also be eligible for SSI.

September 1, 2024 was a Sunday, so SSI recipients received their payments early this month, on August 30. This is also scheduled to happen in November of this year.
If I receive other social security benefits, will I also receive them early?
No. By and large, each Social Security benefit has a simple schedule, and only in some cases can the usual schedule be deviated from. For your information, below is the Social Security payment schedule for September.
