SSDI October 2024: The latest round of payments is just around the corner

We’re officially in October and the next round of Social Security Disability Insurance payments are on their way to beneficiaries. The day you receive your payment this month depends on certain factors. Please see the full October payment schedule below.

Through SSDI, the Social Security Administration sends monthly payments to people who typically have a disability that affects or affects their ability to work. However, depending on the individual’s situation, others may also qualify and apply for SSDI.

Payment plan if you have had SSDI since May 1997 or earlier

If you started receiving SSDI before May 1997, you will typically receive your payment on the third day of each month. Note that this is not always the case, for example when the third day falls on a weekend or holiday. Last March was one such month, and SSDI recipients received their payments two days early, on the first day of the month.

For everyone else, payments depend on the date of birth

If you started receiving SSDI after May 1997, your payment date will be based on the day of the month in which you were born. Payment is usually made on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month. Which Wednesday you receive your check looks like this:
