Stick Talk Cajun-Hibachi was the first restaurant that Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles visited upon her return from the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

After winning four medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics – three gold and one silver – Simone Biles returned to Houston with a big appetite, making a restaurant that has gained popularity over the past year one of her first stops.

Stick Talk Cajun Hibachi was her first meal after returning, according to Biles, who said on Threads that the restaurant was “never a slam dunk.”

“The first meal, STICK TALK, is never missed,” Biles said on Threads with a heart-eyes emoji.

“We were really happy that Simone and Jonathan decided to stop by Stick Talk when they were back in Texas,” said Junior Martin, co-founder of ALIFE Hospitality, which operates Stick Talk. “Our whole team was excited when they saw the post, text messages started pouring in, and of course we’re all happy that they enjoy our food.”

The Japanese hibachi and Cajun fusion restaurant first opened its doors in 2023. Before that, it was a food truck. TikTok food reviewer Keith Lee made the restaurant his first stop on his visit to Houston, which he said was “not bad for some late-night hibachi.”

Stick Talk, which opens for lunch at 11 a.m., said business was continuing as usual as of 2:30 p.m.

“Not too much of a boost yet,” Stick Talk CEO Alfonso Chable said in an emailed statement. “However, the majority of our business actually comes after about 5-6 p.m., so we expect a good evening as we’re on a lot of people’s minds!”
