Short-term rental conference held in Monroe County

TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The first Pocono Short-term Rental & Home Conference began at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions.

According to officials, this two-day event is aimed at people interested in the short-term rental and home ownership industries.

There are dozens of Airbnb and rental properties in the Pocono area.

Contractors, landscapers and plumbers will be available to answer any questions guests may have. The conference also offers free workshops.

Students move into East Stroudsburg University

“The short-term rental safety workshop is being led by Justin Ford. He’s a safety guru, he goes to short-term rentals and tells people that this is a danger. This is a liability. And that’s why I’m so excited to be participating in this workshop tomorrow,” said Brenda Figueroa, co-moderator of the conference.

“For anyone in the short-term rental business, whether they’ve been in it for a long time or they’re thinking about buying a home to maybe list on Airbnb or something like that, it’s extremely valuable to come here and make direct connections and interact with industry experts,” added Tom Powers Market Manager.

The event was hosted by PSHC & Associates.
