Shoe store in Gramercy Park robbed for the fourth time in two months

A high-end sneaker store in the Gramercy Park neighborhood of southern Los Angeles has been broken into for the fourth time in recent months.

Shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, thieves driving a green Kia Soul rammed the facade of the Rich LA Clothing and Sneakers store on W. Century Blvd.

A group of at least five people entered the store and started grabbing shoes from the wall display.

Surveillance video shows them going into a back room, grabbing bags full of items and walking out.

According to LAPD, the suspects were gone when officers arrived. However, police said at least one person was arrested. It is unclear where that person was located.

The owner of Rich LA told FOX 11 that this is the fourth break-in in recent months.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE:

On July 11, at least 10 thieves stole approximately $20,000 worth of merchandise. In that incident, the perpetrators drove a blue car and a white Kia sedan into the front of the store.

Just a few weeks later, on August 9, the store was robbed again. Surveillance video of that incident shows at least six suspects cutting open the metal gate, breaking glass and display cases, and looting the store.

The owners told FOX 11 the suspects stole an estimated $100,000 worth of merchandise, including boxes that had just arrived. Sources believe the same suspects left a store in Encino damaged earlier this week, as the same vehicles were spotted leaving both crime scenes.

It is unclear if the same group of suspects is responsible for all four burglaries at Rich LA. It is also unclear when the third burglary occurred.
