Sherrone Moore is “not happy” with Michigan’s 27-24 win over Minnesota.

Sherrone Moore wasn’t too happy with it Michigan’s Performance on Saturday: a 27:24 win Minnesota in Big Ten play.

After taking a 24-3 lead early in the fourth quarter, the Gophers scored 21 points in the final frame, almost coming back and pulling off the upset. This also included an onside kick that was called back for a penalty, that was certainly questionable.

“Yeah, I’m not very happy with the performance,” Moore told Jenny Taft on the FOX show. “Yes, we have a lot of cleaning to do. The kids work so hard to get out here and I think coaches, players, we have a lot to clean up as a team, as a group to get better.”

Moore acknowledged that Minnesota had a lot more energy in the second half, especially in the final period.

“Yeah, I mean, they came out with a lot of energy, we didn’t,” Moore said. “And you know, I’ll take that on myself, but I think the guys, you know, we obviously won the game, so we’re happy about that, but we’ve got to finish better.”

As for the QB, Alex Orji didn’t light up the stat sheet and Moore said he was back in the lab to fix things.

“You know, he has the things he needs to get better at,” Moore said. “But for us, we had to go back (and get things fixed) and move on, so we appreciate it.”

Orji finished the game completing 10 of 18 passes for 86 yards, one touchdown, one interception and 12 rushing yards. Moore likes to emphasize the running game, led by Kalel Mullings Saturday: 24 carries, 111 yards and two touchdowns.

“We just have to finish better, honestly,” Mullings said on the postgame broadcast. “We saw it last week. We saw it again this week. And, you know, hats off to Minnesota. They fought all four quarters. Constantly pushed us. Luckily we were able to get a win. But of course it’s not what we want, we want to, you know, come out better in the second half and finish the games.”

But with a one-dimensional offense and a defense that nearly jumped out to a three-point lead, things are a little shaky in Ann Arbor.
