Sheriff: Eleven-year-old boy from Florida had “kill list” and arsenal of weapons for school shooting

A prepubescent boy in Florida was handcuffed and thrown into county jail after allegedly bragging about his huge stash of weapons and plans to conduct a “kill list” at two different schools, a sheriff said.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office seized a stash of airsoft guns, knives and swords after 11-year-old Carlo “Kingston” Dorelli showed his classmates a video of his armory and threatened violence, Sheriff Mike Chitwood claimed in a Facebook post.

“He had written a list of names and targets. He says it was all a joke,” Chitwood wrote.

For his “joke,” the sheriff charged Dorelli with a written threat of a mass shooting and released a video showing police officers leading the boy to jail in handcuffs and leg irons.

They also released his mug shot along with a photo of replica assault rifles, samurai swords and throwing stars displayed on a table in the style of a drug raid.

The dramatic demonstration came just days after Chitwood vowed to “investigate” children making prank threats following the deadly shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia that left four people dead.

“Every time we arrest someone, your child’s photo is released … We will come and get you. We will publicly shame you,” Chitwood said at a news conference last week after Florida authorities received 54 false tips about impending school shootings in a single night.

Florida is not the only state where there are repeated threats of school shootings.

On Friday, police in Foley, Alabama, arrested two teenagers for “making a terrorist threat” on social media, local police said. Just days earlier, a school in the city was locked down because a teacher overheard a student talking about owning a gun.

On the same day in Indianapolis, a 12-year-old and a 15-year-old were arrested in two separate cases of making threats against their school district, according to WFYI Indianapolis.

Two 12-year-olds were arrested last week in Texas, where authorities have arrested at least 10 teenagers this school year alone for threatening violence at school, My San Antonio reported.

At least Chitwood has had enough: “To the little bastards out there who think this is funny: ha ha ha, go on social media: you’re not that smart… you’re going to get caught,” he said.
