Selena Gomez And David Henrie talk about the upcoming new series Wizards Beyond Waverly Place!
The two Wizards of Waverly Place Their co-stars take on the roles of the spin-off and both also serve as executive producers. Selena will only appear in the first episode, while David acts as a regular series participant.
While attending the premiere of the fourth season of her other show Only murders in the buildingThe Russo siblings chat about how the idea for the reboot came about and what it was like to return to these roles.

“It felt like I was back home,” Selena told diversity‘S Marc Malkin“I am so happy to be able to pass on this gift from my childhood that I was given to the new little ones out there.”
When asked if the show will continue for multiple seasons, she adds: “We don’t know, but if people like it, we’ll see.”
David revealed that he and Selena were actually the ones who came up with the idea of rebooting the show!
“Selena and my wife and I spent so much time over the years drinking wine and talking about where the characters would be that at some point we looked at each other and said, ‘I think we have a show. I think we should talk to Disney about it.’ And we did. It took years of development to get it exactly where it should be,” he said.
“It came from a place of love,” David added. “The number one Selena is still in demand today wizard“It’s a show that meant a lot to a lot of people.”
He described the first day of filming the pilot episode together as “crazy”.
“It was unspoken, but we were behind a door and we heard ‘action,’ we looked at each other and thought, ‘This is crazy.’ It was like not a day had passed in 12 years. We were exactly where we were.”
About the possibility of future seasons, David said: “The universe is so fertile. There is so much that could be done.”
